U.S. Poker Players Beware Poker Site Scam

Just a quick heads up for my readers...

Anyone in the U.S. playing online poker would be advised to deposit into your account using a prepaid gift visa card or reloadable credit card.

The poker sites who are accepting U.S. players are using very shady tactics to charge your credit cards. They basically start up new companies every day making them look like phone cards, Voice over IP Internet Phone services and any type of data company. They use these new bogus companies to apply for credit card merchant accounts and charge your card using these disposable company names. Players have been reporting extra funds missing from their accounts and some even their bank accounts. When the investigation goes down with the bank, the company cannot be traced and you're beat for your money.

Even worse, they require you to send in a copy of your drivers license and credit card. There have been cases of cards being charged up for thousands of dollars and the bank could not do anything because the scam network has your photo id and card as proof that you were doing business with them.

You may not have had this happen or maybe you have. Just please be careful! Sometimes it's worth it to take a little vacation getaway to your nearest casino resort. If you win, you actually get paid!

Dominating Live Poker Tournaments

How many books, posts and articles are there about winning poker tournaments? About 4.2 gadabazillion. I'm not going to bore you with some long in-depth phil hellmuth explanation. I use one easy to understand thought process when playing in tournaments and here it is.

So many poker players are thick headed they want to believe Texas Hold Em is a game of pure skill to enhance their shrunken ego. I'm sorry but it's really 50% luck, 50% skill which really works out to equal the word gambling when it's all said and done.

The point I want to get across to you is that you shouldn't worry about your cards and what starting hand to play and all of the things players get scared with. Focus more on the players - Mainly how they are acting and what they are doing. Do they look pissed off because they just lost, are they tired, do they have a lot of chips left, etc. The cards are really secondary. Work on telling a story to the players by your own actions and your own image. Do you feel tired, then you should look alert and strong. Are you pissed off and tilting, then take a breather. The same rules apply for yourself.

I always related poker to the animal kingdom, especially how wolves and packs of dogs act toward each other. Try to be that alpha player at your table. The one who puts others in their place if they screw with them. Find ways to bend other players to your will and desires. The cards are secondary. The sooner you can master this, the sooner you will find yourself in a position to strike even if you're holding crap. Let's face it, if you're meant to win, you're meant to win. Aces get cracked, kings get cracked and 4 players at your table could be holding pocket 10's, J's, Q's and Kings. Of course you'll have the kings and the guy with the 10's catches his trips. I said it a few times but remember, the cards are secondary.

I always pick a new image every live tournament I enter. I even dress the part and act the part down to the shirt on my back. The image that has worked really well is acting like a complete and total novice. Purposely play every hand I'm dealt, purposely ask stupid questions, the whole nine yards. It's funny but in combination with this "image", a lot of the players instantly believe I'm a moron on my first trip to a casino wanting to play poker.

What does this do for me?

For one, It allows me to gain respect when I really reveal my skill set. Two, it strikes fear into the players when they realize that moron over there is actually not a moron at all. This is my spin on a wolf in sheep's clothing. You can make a greater impact and impression when you are mislabeled. It will scare the minds of others when they realize they were wrong about the label. If they were wrong about the label they placed on you, are they wrong about the cards they've been playing, or cards they haven't been playing. Create doubt, create worry, create fear, create wonder. Expose yourself after the second or third break in the tournament and they wont know what hit them.

Beware of Shady Full Tilt Poker FTP Scam

Before I tell you about the ridiculous time I've had with Full Tilt I would like to first tell you I am not the type of person to make a big deal out of nothing. Something has to really piss me off badly in order to take the time to dedicate minutes of my life to rant and rave about it. This is one of those times!

Story starts out like this...

As you may know, I'm really into poker. I have a few strategies out there and dedicate a lot of time to helping others with Texas Hold 'Em. It only seemed logical to try and pick up some money from advertising poker sites and being an affiliate. I join Full Tilt and start a small campaign. Anyone that was new to online poker or needed some advice I would send them to Full Tilt. I had an account with them previously for a few months and it worked out good for me. The first month I sent about 28 people to them who signed up made their first deposit and started playing. All the tracking went flawlessly and I saw the money earned in the affiliate panel. About a week into the next month, still no payment in my FT account. I emailed them and asked what was up. I get a reply back saying they had to investigate my account. Great, I thought, I'm doomed.

The next day I go to login, invalid password or user name. Try again, invalid password or user name. I try getting the password sent to me, no luck. I email them again, 3 days later a reply comes... Sorry, your account is closed, your affiliate account is closed and every dime we have of yours is being kept. Of course it was worded a lot nicer but I like to tell it how it is.

Thinking about affiliate sales with Full Tilt? Think again. Their marketing tools and account features sold me on them. My player account was working out for me with no problems. Too bad they turned out to be crooked thieves. So in the long run, all of my efforts were wasted, never got my money, a few hundred that was in the account got taken and they got at least 28 free players to their site all from my efforts.

<^>(*.*)<^> Shame on you Full Tilt, Shame on you.

Heads Up Poker Strategy by Mike Thomas

I have recently published my Heads up Strategy for Texas Hold 'Em poker and have gotten great feedback from those who have used the strategy online. I'm sure you've been struggling at turning a profit playing poker online, we all have at one time or another. With such a wide array of players how the heck can anyone win consistently?

Live cash games have been my "thing" for a few years, picking up cash games online has been an experience. :) I find that no matter what I do to get ahead there is always someone, every single time, that will call, call call, call, call and catch a 3 outer. I've questioned why someone would do this? I've questioned why it happens so frequently and I've questioned why I'm even playing online!

The real fact is that online poker is treated as more of a gamble than skill. Skill has gone out the window and everyone wants to gamble their way to riches. Deposit, Gamble, Reload is the tune that a ton of online players swing to. That's about the time when I stopped playing online poker cash games at 6 and 10 person tables. Was online poker rigged or was it just a crazy world of pre bad luck?

I started playing Heads up poker religiously due to the fact that it's technically a 50/50 shot at winning. It took a while of brainstorming but I came up with a consistent strategy for Heads Up Poker that would keep me in the profits. I've been playing steadily with this strategy now for a few months and have had a lot of players who have used it email me with props.

You're wondering what the strategy is about and I can tell you it's a unique strategy that has not been around for very long. Now, of course I have about 70 or so players who have used my strategy to date so there is a lot of buzz growing. The Heads up Poker strategy makes it easy to sit down at a heads up table and leave a winner. You do this 20-30 times a day and for the most part you're in the plus $50-$100 depending on what limit you decide to play. Once you understand the strategy you can advance to no-limit heads up poker games and turn over a lot of a profit. I have won upward of $80 in less than a minute using the strategy at no-limit tables.
